Mission Projects and Donations

This year we've tried to become more "hands on" in our mission work.  In addition to donations to Community Nurses, Neediest Family Fund, Child & Family Services, Providence Ronald McDonald House, Family Non-Violence, Market Ministries and several others, we packed snacks and made cards for Boston City Mission, collected towels and toiletries and continued stocking our food pantry.  Last summer a group of volunteers worked at a Habitat for Humanity build doing some inside finish work and landscaping.  Christian Children's Fund introduced us to our new sponsored child, Erwan.

In addition, our capital campaign has an outreach component which includes a mission tithe of 10% of the monies raised during the capital campaign will be given to one or more specific mission projects to be determined.  This mission tithe recognizes that, as people of faith, we are in covenant with others outside of our church walls.

Our Food Pantry

The Action for Christ Committee maintains a pantry of non-perishable food items for those in the community in need of emergency food supplies.  It is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Fill a Back-Pack Campaign

Help us provide school supplies to Fairhaven students in need.  Take advantage of the back-to-school sales and pick up some extra supplies.  Crayons, pens, pencils, markers, rulers, erasers, glue sticks, folders, notebooks, scissors, etc. are needed for all age levels.  Place in the purple tub in the William Street entrance.

Heifer Project International

Our Church maintains strong ties to Heifer Project International. Each year through various projects and fundraisers, we donate significant funds to send animals and training to needy persons in the United States and the World. Each year our Confirmation Class donates a weekend of their time to Overlook Farm in Rutland, MA, home of the Northeast Region Headquarters and Training Center.

Handyman Ministry

Our Handymen are available to take care of those pesky jobs that need doing around your house.  For a donation to the church you can 'hire' our first rate workers.

Schedule your job today!  Call the church e-mail the church for contact information.

Contributions to Other Ministries

Help Serve at Market Ministries - 3rd Friday of each month.

Help Serve at Loaves & Fishes Breakfast Program - Last Saturday every other month.

Our Sponsored Child

In 2008 we were introduced to our new sponsored child through Christian Children's Fund.  Erwan Ramadhani is 9 years old and is part of the Putro Linuwih program in Indonesia.  We look forward to watching Erwan grow and prosper with our support.

Write to Erwan via Christian Children's Fund, P.O. Box 1364, Jakarta  10013 Indonesia.

E-mails can be sent to sr132@ccfindonesia.org.  Messages will be printed and forwarded to the child.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted by fold from the church (either individually or in groups) and after being dedicated in worship are given to individuals during illness and recovery, times of loss and grief, or even in special times of joy.  A special written prayer accompanies the shawl when it is gifted.

Patterns are available from the church office.  We are always in need of new shawls.
